Timed-Practices
BUILD EXAM SKILLS consistently through the year!
The A Levels is a national exam that requires the recall of a large amount of integrated content, and the application of specific exams skills, accurately and quickly within a fixed amount of time. This requires consistent practice to build "muscle memory" just as you would train consistently before going for any sports competition.
However, schools have removed mid-year exams beginning 2024. This means that JC1 students do not fully assess their exam skills until the Promos, and JC2 students do not fully assess their exam skills again until the Prelims, only about two months before the A Levels!
Until the A Levels examination format is changed, this sparse spacing of the training and assessment of content recall and exam skills is probably not a good idea for doing well at the A Levels.
At Chemistry Domus, we issue entire series of TIMED-PRACTICES at major checkpoints:
-
mid-year of JC1,
-
before JC1 Promos,
-
mid-year of JC2,
-
before JC2 Prelims, and
-
all the way through the A Levels.
In addition, students will be directed to mark their own scripts, ensuring that they build their ability to discern what are good answers, and most importantly, Chung will give detailed feedback on their marked scripts, ensuring the progressive improvement to ace the A Levels. And all of this additional guidance is included in the monthly fees!
